I am new to XMR and local monero. Can i purchase / trade for XMR and give the seller my Marketplace Wallet deposit key? Would that work or do i need to give them MyMonero Wallet and then move it to my marketplace wallet myself?

If you’re buying XMR you have to provide an external wallet address. Internal addresses can’t be used as settlement addresses. We recommend Feather Wallet (featherwallet.org) for PC or Monerujo for Android or Cake for iOS.
