Sellers: Beware the "false buyer" scam

BEHAVIOR from “Buyer”:

  1. Requests a large amount of XMR.
  2. Posts a comment in the chat window.
  3. Disappears.

The person I suspect had a new account with no trade history, and requested my limit. I waited 24 hours before canceling and reporting here.

INTERPRETATION:
Buyer hopes Seller clicks Release (instead of Cancel), causing accidental delivery of XMR.

REQUEST:
Please PM the accountID you suspect and I’ll reply with the accountID I suspect. We can then compare and validate suspicions before reporting any “match” to LM admins.

Unless you ask for ID from 1st time buyers to identify them, I think declining to deal with zero trade history people requesting limit purchases may solve the problem.
